We had a busy week! Tuesday night/Wednesday morning at midnight was the premiere of the newest Harry Potter movie. Jim LOVES the Harry Potter movies (especially now that they're getting into the darker, not-so-kiddie, parts) and I've read the books a couple times and enjoy the movies as well. So we just HAD to go to the midnight showing. :) 12:01am to be exact. Jim (and everyone else) thought I was crazy for wanting to get there no later than 10:30, but guess what. We got there and there was a loooooong line already. There was easily 150-200 people in front of us! Our theatre here sold out 4 midnight showings. And there were thousands other sold out showings across the U.S. The movie did not disappoint (for the most part) and we were happy to see it. We already have tickets to see it at the IMAX in Kansas City on August 1st so that should be even better!
We've been trying to get more stuff done around the house. Last weekend we FINALLY finished the touch up painting in the office and kitchen. It looks great. And on the schedule for this weekend was the 1/2 bath off of the kitchen and the coat closet off of the living room. I'm glad to say they are both painted and look great. :) On the down side...Friday night the lights went out in the kitchen. There were flourescent lights in there and I had told Jim that I wanted that gone...I hate flourescent lighting because I feel like I'm at work! We figured eventually we would put recessed lighting in, but that sounded like a pain in the rear because we don't have attic access there. Anyways, since the light blew out, we tried replacing a bulb but that didn't work...the ballast's had gone bad. Sooooo we figured that was our push to get the lighting done in there! I looked and looked this weekend trying to find what I wanted...Finally decided on something but they were out (just a standard light fixture). Came home, looked online and saw this track lighting with these hang down lights that I just loved. I call them fancy schmancy lights because I see them in these really nice houses. So I told Jim that's what I wanted. LOL! Of course when it came down to it, it was probably the most expensive thing I could've wanted (that's how it always goes, right?) but we got the track set up the way I liked and got the lights on and it's just absolutely perfect. It's angled just right, and we bent the track just how I wanted, and the lights are perfect. And I love my hangy-down lights too. So cute. Here's a picture!
