Well all of the eggs have hatched! I'm slow on getting things uploaded, but here is a picture I took on the 17th that shows all but two have hatched (one egg is hidden under a bird). They are really ugly...LOL!!

This pic was from the 18th. All birds born! Not sure what the yellow thing is on them...weird!

And this is from today. They are getting big! Can't hardly fit. Thank goodness there's more hair, cause the hairless birds were scary looking. LOL! The one with its mouth open is SO cute in this one. He/She had lifted its head up and laid it back down but left their mouth open. LOL

I love Spring in Kansas. Lots of exciting storms...usually...but not many this year. Besides that though, the weather is GORGEOUS. Usually by now it's consistently in the 80's and even 90's. That's a little TOO warm for me, but it has been slower to warm this year (global warming? YEAH RIGHT!!! What a farce). Anyways, the weather has been perfect. 70's and low 80's. I love it. Well we bought our house in the right neighborhood, because guess what...We have a community pool!!! Our home ownership dues goes to the pool and I will GLADLY pay my $90/year to have access to it! Well it was supposed to open at the beginning of May, but it was too cold! So they finally have it filled and they opened it on Tuesday! Jim was working second shift on Mon-Wed of this week so he called me and told me it was open. I was SO jealous...so I took the afternoon off so we could go to the pool!!! The only problem? The water hasn't warmed yet. It was 66 degrees and they usually keep it at 84! BRRRR! So we laid out by the pool.
So. Awesome. Have I mentioned that I love our house (and neighborhood)??? LOL

I almost forgot!
Sooooooooo guess who I get to see next week?? AUNT JUDY AND UNCLE MICKEY!!!!! YAHOOOOOOOO! That's another great thing about Spring! They come to visit me. Okay fine, not really to visit me...they're here for work, but they still get to see me, so I'll just say they're here to visit me! :) I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE when family is out here! It doesn't happen often so I enjoy it SO much. A three day weekend and family in town? AND the weather is going to be NICE and not blistering hot like it usually is when they're here? It just doesn't get better than that!!!!

We have babies!

We have babies! No, I'm not pregnant you crazy people! Some of the bird eggs hatched! I pulled the flowers down this morning to water and two of the eggs hatched! They are so small and kinda ugly actually. LOL! They don't have much hair on them and look like a blob of nastyness. :) The Mom flew away when I moved the flowers but she stayed very close and chirped constantly. Pictures are below! As of this evening, still just the two had hatched. Four more to come! I watched them for awhile and mostly they just laid their cuddling with each other. At times they would life their head with their beak opened wide. That was SO cute. Of course they only did that when I either didn't have the camera ready or it wasn't focused. UGH! LoL! Pics are below. Enjoy!

Mama Bird

Blurry picture of the baby birds...but this one shows the beak and eye that looks humongous compared to its little head!

Relay for Life

My work has (finally) decided to create a team for Relay for Life. I am VERY excited about this and just knew I wanted to be a part of it! For those that don't know, Relay for Life is an event across the country that helps raise money for cancer research. We need to find a cure! Most people have had cancer affect them or their family in some way and it needs to stop!

If you have $5.00 to spare, please consider donating to my team so we can help raise money! Our event is on June 5 & 6. The walk starts at 7pm on Friday the 5th and we will walk until 7am on the 6th. It should be fun and I hope we raise a TON of money!

If you would like to donate, please go here: http://main.acsevents.org/goto/michellegriffith

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

More Eggs! And a great concert!

Last night we went to the Kenny Chesney concert in Kansas City! Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert opened for him. The show was GRRRREAT!!! We're not big Mirada Lambert fans, but she put on a great show. And Kenny's show is always awesome! We had really good seats too. YAY! Thanks 94.5 Country!! Working in radio definitely has its perks. :) Here are a couple pics!

You can't tell from the picture but my hair was SO cute. I had a haircut schedule already so I had my hairdresser style it for me for the show. It was all curly and so hot. :)

On Friday night we got a chance to meet the new owners of our local hockey team and to secure our season tickets for next year! The owners are FANTASTIC and I have a meeting with the President for next week to go over ideas on how our radio stations can get involved. They owners are just what this team needs. I am so excited to help them out next year!

Update on the bird eggs...now there are 6 in the nest! Holy cow! Will be interesting to see if they all hatch!

That's it for now. Next weekend we finally have a weekend with nothing to do! YAY! Soooo we're planning on going to Kansas City so Jim can go ice skating and I can do shome shopping! Yahoo! :) It will be nice to be able to just relax for a weekend!

Love you all!
And Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers, especially mine! Love and miss you!

Birds and Bentley!

I just love Spring! The flowers bloom, it starts warming up, and birds are born! Yesterday I pulled one of my hanging plants down to water it and there's a nest in it...and two eggs! I couldn't believe it! Tonight when I pulled it down to water it again there were three eggs! A bird flew off of the flowers when I went by it to bring it down and Jim said it looked like a finch. Anyways, it's just so neat, so here's some pics from yesterday!

And I'm going to do add this tonight since I'm not sure if I'll have time to post tomorrow...but tomorrow is Bentley's first birthday! Happy Birthday, Bentley! I sure hope that once he turns one he will miraculously become this perfect, well-behaved dog. hahaha. Wishful thinking, I know! I took some cute pictures of him yesterday though, so I'll share those.

He loves looking out the windows! He stands at this window which faces the street, lays in front of the sliding glass doors off of the deck, loves to lay on the deck and sun bathe or loves to look out the little window at the side of the front door (see pic below). Sometimes I think he'd rather be an outside dog!

Anyways, that's pretty much it for now. Hope everyone has a GREAT week!
